Would you like to contribute to our international work for children’s rights? Are you motivated by developing strategic partnerships for fundraising? We have an opening for a temporary position (maternity cover starting 1st January 2026 until 31st January 2027) as Institutional Partnership Adviser/Senior Adviser in the International Program Department.

The position holder will be responsible for coordinating Save the Children Norway's 

(SCN) partnerships with some of SCNs institutional donors. Experience with one or more of the following donors will be preferred: Education Cannot Wait (ECW), EU donors (ECHO/INTPA), Global Partnership for Education (GPE), UNICEF and Green Climate Fund (GCF). The Adviser will work closely with relevant colleagues internally in SCN and Save the Children International as well as with other Save the Children members.

The position sits within the Institutional Partnership Section of the International Program Department. The Institutional Partnership Section is responsible for long term and sustainable donor relations, resulting in funding and policy influence that contributes to Save the Children’s mission to ensure that children survive, learn, and are safe. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS 

• Be the SCN focal point for collaboration and strategic engagement with one or more of SCN’s institutional donors, while also supporting other SCN donor focal points to strengthen coordination, shared learning, and overall partnership effectiveness. This includes developing and providing strategic direction and steer for SCN's partnership with these donors. Exact donor responsibility will be decided upon appointment and can change. 
• Contribute to the development of SCN’s overall portfolio and partnership with the assigned donors. 
• Provide analysis and expert advice on the policies and priorities of the donor(s) as well as best practice for fundraising. 
• Assist fundraising efforts, including tracking and sharing information about new funding opportunities, undertake necessary research and data analysis, support selected proposal and reporting processes, and assist reviews of partnership agreements, grant agreements, and consortia agreements. 
• Provide capacity building and support to colleagues at SCN and country offices on donor expectations, requirements and compliance throughout the project cycle. 
• Facilitate information sharing and learning to strengthen internal staff capacity to fundraise and manage funding from donors, including development of policies and procedures, guidance tools, and materials. 
• Coordinate and assist donor-initiated organizational processes such as organizational audits, assessments, and thematic reporting.
• Represent SCN in donor events and meetings and provide support to SCN and country offices to prepare for and manage donor visits and meetings in country. 
• Coordinate with other Save the Children members to deliver on joint priorities and exchange best practices. 
• Support the overall deliverables of the Institutional Partnership Section and take on additional tasks as needed. 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE 

• You are self-driven and responsible individual who enjoys supporting and sharing knowledge and experiences with colleagues
• You are dedicated to Save the Children's mission in ensuring all children survive, learn and are safe 
• You possess knowledge of major institutional donors, including strategic priorities, organizational setup and funding mechanisms (preferably direct experience with donors in SCN’s portfolio and as mentioned above) 
• You continually seek out training and continued education to keep yourself abreast of donor developments and requirements 
• You have excellent understanding of international trends in development funding and donorship and you enjoy analysing donor information to produce advice and solutions. 
• You have documented results in fundraising, including developing donor strategies and plans, as well as developing proposals and reports to government/institutional donors. 
• You have relevant higher education
• You have a minimum 3 years of practical experience from a humanitarian and/or development organisation or donor administration, either at HQ or field level.
• You have strong planning and administrative skills, including strong understanding of financial reporting and budgeting. 
• You are fluent in English, both written and verbal; Norwegian, Arabic, French, and Portuguese skills are an asset 
• You have high work capacity; you motivate others and enjoy working in teams.
